Brian Daboll hired as Chiefs’ offensive coordinator

The Chiefs’ coaching staff continues to look more and more like a Patriots’ family reunion.  Reports are the Chiefs have just hired former Browns and Dolphins O-coordinator, and former Patriot assistant Brian Daboll.  This comes as a surprise as Jim Zorn seemed the likely choice and will now likely not be returning as quarterbacks coach.

Daboll’s resume includes stints as O-coordinator of two pretty mediocre offensive teams in the Browns and last years Dolphins.  But at least he has experience running offenses with hum-drum quarterbacks.

As I was looking for some info on our new offensive Patriot suckling, I came across an interesting article about some harsh techniques Daboll employed on then Brown’s rookie quarterback Colt McCoy.  Brian Daboll’s Rough Rookie Treatment of Colt McCoy

Matt Cassel may end up longing for the days of Todd Haley yelling and calling him a (bleepity bleep bleep) after a training camp under Brian Daboll.

Daboll as Offensive Coodinator:

2009 Cleveland Brown’s – 32nd in total offense

2010 Cleveland Brown’s  29th in total offense

2011 Miami Dolphins – 22nd in total offense
